The Missing Chapter

For my first class in Humanities of my sophomore year, I am taking a class called Stories. We learned about stories and where they came and originate from. We studied different religions and did a small group project on a certain religion. We learned about its setting and etiology. Etiology is usually referred to as the creations of a myth. I studied Yahweh with RZD, and learned about the Judaism and its etiological story. For my first Action Project for Stories we were instructed to create our own etiological story. I think my drawing for my planet “Alancha” turned out extremely well. I struggled with creating my own myth using the “Big Bang.” I overcame my struggles by sitting down and just daydreaming, and letting my imagination flow. I then came up with a story about a God who controls a planet. Enjoy!

PVU. (September 2016) Alancha

Chapter One...

In a world far beyond one we can see there was a small planet. The planet was named after Alancha, an idolized God-like figure. The world of Alancha was a single large futuristic urban type of planet. The creation story of this planet is that the God Alancha created human like beings, but they all have different powers and they could do amazing things with their powers. Alancha used these beings to create things almost as if they were slaves. Although there was a story that Alancha had once been seen, Alancha never showed his face on the planet. Somehow, he could control everything from the sky.

The beings on Alancha were segregated into groups based on their powers. The first group designed products. The second group created the products. The third group distributed the products. With all of these three groups, Alancha the God was able to make anything he wanted so he felt omnipotent. He created these slaves so he could achieve anything he wished. The entire city of Alancha was like a non-stop factory making products for Alancha. It was almost as if he was a kid asking for every toy. When Alancha wanted something he got it. The slaves that he created did exactly what he ordered. Alancha tried to seem benevolent to make sure his slaves did not slow or stop their work. Alancha made sure his slaves were treated well and the slaves had families and homes in which they lived. He made sure there was no protests in his world; otherwise his plans would not work.

Alancha began demanding more and more unusual items. Although the slaves were pusillanimous for many years, they slowly became unsatisfied and suspicious of their God. As they became more indignant, they grew tired of being subordinates. Alancha became extremely mad that the slaves he created were rebelling.

Their rebellion got so bad that he knew his empire was going to perish. He started making a plan to change how things worked on his planet. Alancha tried to create another “Big Bang.” He thought that he could restart everything. He did change his world but not in the way he anticipated. Instead, he was not a God anymore. Instead, he became a slave just like everyone else. The other slaves saw this dramatic change and expressed great felicity.

Alancha’s world in many different ways is unimaginable. Alancha was trying to do the impossible. He tried to build a new society like he was building with Legos in a kindergarten class. But the slave beings he created had feelings and dreams and lost their motivation to produce for Alancha.

Although Alancha was a bad God, he created this beautiful futuristic city that we live in now. Thirty years later I tell this story because I am the one who started this retaliation towards Alancha. Since then I have been telling this story over and over like a pre-recorded message. I am hoping this story never stops being told.
